I've only just joined BB and not sure if I am doing this right. I'm really sorry for writing in your thread but I have sort of the same question and would appreciate any advise.

At my 19 week scan in May I found out that the baby had died the week before so had to be induced and deliver him as he was too big for a d & c. It was awful and I'm so sorry for everyone who has lost babies, its just not fair. The doctor thought that he had got all of the placenta but he hadn't and 4 days later I was passing really big clots so went to emergency and had to have a d & c. This was 23 days ago. And now I'm not really bleeding but every few days I have a bit of spotting of red blood and this morning I did a pregnancy test to see if my harmone levels were back to normal and that showed a positive. I'm definately not pregnant!!

I'm not sure how long it should be before everything gets back to normal. I don't really want to go to my gp as I have been there way to much recently and to be honest I don't want to be messed about with anymore. can anyone help?

Thanks and sorry again for writing in your thread,

    Mrs E

    Hi Mrs E,

Don't be apologetic at all! I'm glad to you did post.

I'm am so sorry for your loss and I can understand your pain.

I thinking from what I have been reading around the forums - it can take up to 6 weeks before everything is completely normal. Some Women more. some less. I guess it'd be very individual.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. I encourage you to post as much as you need to.

AFM - Pains and bleeding have stepped up again today. I just lost another clot about the size of a 10c piece. I have a feeling I will be going to threatre tomorrow. I hope not though.

Oh Sara: I am sorry thta the physical side is dragging itself out for you. I had two D&Cs with my 1st MC they were 6 weeks apart as it was retained products the OB didnt believe i had. I still "felt" symptoms of pregnancy until a week after the 2nd D&C. Sorry not great news for you but i hope you are different and dont need the Op tomorrow. If you do tho, it is quick and almost painless. Will be thinking of you!

MrsE not sure what is going on but i would suggest that you need support of some sort, even if that means you find a new GP! So sorry for you loss!

    Thanks hun.

I didn't have a d&c at all this time. I went with Medical Management where they bring it on with Misoprostal.

Thats why I have to go for repeat bloods and u/s tomorrow. To make sure everything was passed.

I didn't want to go d&c this time but I was completey open to having it as a last resort. Which if tomorrow there is still "products", I will have reached my last resort.

So you think its normal that I am still getting pg symptoms???

I can't believe ME, the Doula and Student Midwife is asking these questions!

    Thanks again hun!

Ahh but see you arent a MW or Doula! You are mum that is going thru the most horrible thing a women can go thru. I am an RN and have the same thoughts when i have to ask a 'simple' question. Stop trying to treat yourself! You have enough on your plate! Yes i think its ok that you are still having sore boobs. Your body hadnt picked up yet that your baby had grow wings! Give it time and yes i HATE saying that,...... but its true!
