DD has been at daycare for the past three days, and this afternoon they let me know she had blisters on her bum, there are two , this morning they were just red marks and I had applied moo goo on them.
She goes with a fresh MCN on, then she has 5 in her bag for the day, this week it has been from 7:45am to 5:30pm. I am wondering if they are not changing the MCN's often enough, as each night they have gone to put on a clean MCN when I have arrived, and I have still bought home a clean one. They do a change just after breakfast, so that leave 2 other changes between at the latest 9am and 5:30pm
Poor Bubba they look sooo painful and have rise up and are filled with fluid, I put some Bepanthen on them tonight, but not sure if this was the right thing to do or not
Can anyone give me any suggestions what I should do, just more nappy free time? I change her more frequently at home, and I will have to ask that they do it a bit more often too.
Are they leaving poo in her nappy too long? The only time I can think that we had blisters was DD1 at 13 months. Running away coz she knew it would hurt after diarrhea from her 2yo molars.
Is she teething?
When DS has nappy rash I use zinc & castor oil, but not good for MCN's. Nappy free will help. I personally use sposies on occasion if its not getting better itself. Sometimes helps.
I would definetely ask for more nappy changes & maybe pack 2 or 3 more, JIC?
Sounds so painful, and I am not sure besides nappy free time. But I am a firm believer that salt in the bath fixes just about any skin ailment.
Does your daycare keeps a log of when they change them, feed them etc, if so ask for the details. If you feel she isn't getting changed enough, tell them.

Jett got blisters on his bum not so long ago. And they were def changing him in time. They told me that they heard him poo, took him straight away to get changed and his bum was bright red with raised blisters. It happened a few days after too when he was at home with us - I had never seen anything like it before. He was showing signs of teething at the time so I can only presume that it was that (although I haven't seen any new teeth yet!! I suppose if they are teething then they are swallowing alot of excess saliva that their digestive system is trying to digest resulting in acid poo.
At these times I ditch the MCNs and put sposies on with the heavy duty cream that is zinc based that our local chemist makes themselves. I don't think MooGoo is up to the quick fix challenge at these times. Plus we can't use MooGoo at DC because it contains almond oil - nut allergy risk.

We used the Bepanthen for a couple of days every nappy change and it worked really well, it allowed the blisters to settle down and I increased the nappy changes over that weekend, not sure if that impacted it or not. It looksed scarred, two purple dots but I assume they will just go in time. We also increased the nappy free itme, which resulted in a bit more of a cleanup Thankfully only wee!
They seem to be using an extra nappy this week, but she is also a lot mroe settled at night, so it would have been teething as well as there is a lot happening in that department at the moment. One of her 2yr old molars came through the other week and I think there is another coming too.
We haven't had any diahorrea, so I can rule that out, but her wee's were quite strong smelling so probably coming down to the teething causing the problems.
HM they just list what sort of nappies she has had, but not the times, so I can't tell how long between changes, but I will ask what the routine is for future reference.
BJ I am putting an extra nappy or two in the bag as well, but they aren't being used

i know how you feel ! DD has the worst rash and blisters ever !!! I ended up having to put her in sposies for the week and usuing paw paw ointment its calmed everything down but the rash is still there , i put her in mcn the other day and she rashed up again , so im doing a canesten wash soon .
i hate nappy rash DH put moo goo on and the alcohol in it burned her broken skin and she was rolling around the floor screaming for about 25 mins straight , we ended up bathing her again and taking her for a walk around the block with no nappy on , any thing on her bum would just make her scream
thankfully its healing up but one of the blisters has popped so i have to be extra careful now ...
what are you using to clean? My friend and I both had the same problem and we had both started using the same foaming wash. Must have been something in it that irritated. Although I suppose it could have been a coincedence related to teething. Hope your bubs bums are feeling better soon
