    Compression Leaks???

Ok so Ive heard the term afew times on here, but not really sure what it is??
Do you guys mean when bub is sleeping so his/her bum is in the same spot for ages?? Or is it where pants are right up against the nappy in the crotch bit???
    Thanks guys

Yep that's exactly what it is!

Microfibre is worse for it than bamboo I've found. I'll be mindful of what nappy I put on bub if we are going to have a longish car trip or she is going for a sleep. Also a nappy that has a fleece outer that is more breathable will allow some moisture to evaporate off if it's really wet.

So as far as clothes go....would I be making the chance of leaks worse by putting DS in the singlets that snap in the crotch or tighter fitting pants???

I think there needs to be a fair bit of force to get a compression leak, such as bubs weight when lying down, or the strap in the car-seat or pram.

Having said that, I use the Mother Ease Rikki (sp?) covers and have NEVER had a leak since. They are PUL and seriously nothing gets through! I ditched the wool covers early on because I always got compression leaks.

We only get compression leaks cos DD is walking and with the falling over etc the force of her bum hitting thr floor is enough to get a leak. Sometimes if she sleeps on her tummy she will be quite wet round the front... Since using the Maz covers over night religiously we've not had aan issue...
