No we just used plenty of praise. We used to tell DD that she was a big girl doing her wees like child a or child b (kids who were a bit older than her who she looked up to and were her friends. She liked that and would often tell us she was a big girl like those children when she did a wee or poo on the toilet.

Nup. She was really young and we just used loads of positive reinforcement, deep breaths and never showed any anger (even if it was there!) or critisism.
We used stickers and then for 10 stickers we went and bought new undies. We then were having a little trouble with getting that first poo so she got a colouring book to use on the potty because we just wanted to catch that first one to get her clued into the process. Worked here, no accidents but she was over 3 at the time so I think it depends.
