My toddler turns 2 in a week and because she has been doing poop in the toilet on and off since she was 14 months I thought maybe it would be a good idea to start fully trianing her. She comunicates very well and she has long dry nappies
So 4 days ago we started. it was great. hard work. but progressed. a few accidents here and there but as the days passed it just got better until yesterday morning. She was in the shower and I had placed her toilet seat insert for toddlers in the shower with her to give it a quick wash since the water was running. She took a step and had fallen right on it. Down the middle if you knwo what I mean. She screamed and got over it in a few minutes. There was a bit of blood but from what I can see looks like a little graze.
Anyway she needed to go wee wee after that and what happened? She sat on her seat and weed. then SCREAMED!!!!!!! Turns out the cut was stinging from the urine.
Where does that leave us? a phobia to do wee or go to toilet. You can tell she is busting and keep holding her private with her hand but she is too scared to wee.
so she trickles bit by bit and we've been having soo many accidents (though the accidents are not from her inability to communicate to me she needs to wee or he rinability to hold it till she gets to the toilet because we know from the first few days she was able to do this well)
My question. What do I do? put her back in nappies? or keep just running after her and cleaning the mess every 20 minutes (because she trickels bit by bit)
Its so tiring but to think about all the effort we have both put in.
