How do YOU dispose of your disposables?

Just wondering if we go down the sposies path, how do you dispose of them? Do you recommend a Tommy Tippee type device that makes the nappy into a little sausage or do you use little nappy bag things or are there other ways of disposing? The cartridges of Tommy Tippee is expensive but is it worth it?

As a newborn, i had one of them nappy things and it drove me insane (but still a god idea). Now i just put them all in a bag and chuck them straight into the bin.

I found newborns go thru alot of napies and the new cartridge thingys are expensive as you said... and cost a fortune after a while (cos ur going thru so many nappies each day)..lol

I can't see any point of adding to the plastic landfill problem with more layers of plastic, we just have a lidded bin that we empty very frequently.

When I do use them (not often) I just roll them and use the sticky tabs to keep it rolled in a ball if that makes sense! That's after I roll any poo off into the toilet. Is that common knowledge among the sposie users?? I only heard of that law recently...

I knew of it.. but have never done it....isnt that just wasting more water?? LOL

If it's a no.1 I just pop it in a scented bag & it hangs off the change table until it's got a couple in it, then tie it up & off to the bin. If it's no.2 then straight into the scented bag & straight in the bin. When I say "in the bin" I mean the Wheelie Bin outside. I don't see it's that hard to make a couple trips to the bin outside rather than spending extra money on something that is not really needed & takes up more room. If you want something to put them in & only empty it later I would just buy one of the buckets with a lid.

You're not supposed to bin poop. Yeah. REALLY easy to police that!

I just tape mine into a ball with their own tapes and drop them in the bin. I didn't use sposies until DD was 5 months old (past the pooping every 3 minutes stage of early BFing!), i bin 4 or 5 a day.

I roll them up & chuck them , if they are stinkies I put them in a stink bag. I didn't know you weren't allowed to bin poopah either opps!!

I bought a nappy bin based on some advice DH received and found it to be totally useless! Would not recommend one based on my experience, much easier to pop it in the bin outside. I also let the wee nappies collect in a bag and then put it in the bin

It says on the side of the box / packet of Huggies. Not sure about others though.

You are supposed to put it in the toilet because it's an offense to put human refuse into landfill, so that includes babies as well.

Thats exactly wat i do...i thought i was the only one to leave them hanging on the change table lol!!

OooooO I never knew that...

I'm bad, I put them in those nappy sacks, then they go into our tommee tippee, but instead of using the cartridge we use smelly bin liners.

I can't imagine trying to scrape off Seth's poo... thank god I'm not doing this for much longer.

We were given one of those Sangenic Nappy Wrapper thingos.....when Olivia born.......I never used it.......from memory I Ebayed it, LOL!

I roll in mine into a ball withe the tapes and take them out to the wheelie bin........(especially Charlie's....OMG.....2 year old poos.....they are SO SO gross.......)

Nappy packaging says to flush it, not to be polite, but because it's the law....same as formula tins having to say that bfeeding is best for bubs - they're not doing it to look nice. Human waste should go to the sewage farms, not our landfill. Lol, no wonder everyone's bins smell!

When I use them I flick the poo into the toilet and then put the nappy in the bin. I don't bother with using the nappy disposal bags at home.
Kimbaz you're not the first person who has spoken like that about the nappy wrapper. They seem like a ludicrous waste of money to me!

Wow, I've actually never read the nappy packets!!! I just open it up, but them in the basket under the change table & chuck the packet out. OK I can see the issue with not putting it in the bin, we don't do our no2 in the bin LOL!!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who lets the wee nappies stack up!!! Isn't it great to find out you are normal when you do something you think you prob shouldn't or you think no one else would do it.

OK so I TRY and get the no 2's off teh sposies.... but how are u meant to egt newborn poos off? they are runny...... soak into the nappy itself??

any tips?
