how do you do the 'potty' thing?

i toilet trained my DD1 with the little seat that goes ontop of the toilet so not sure how to go about using the potty.

DD2 is really different, she isnt as clued on about stuff although her toilet training is starting because of her continuously taking her nappy and pants off. she tells me when she has DONE the wee or poo but not BEFORE they occur. when i put her on the toilet she wants to keep getting on and off and often times i give up and thats when she wees on the floor.

so i think i am going to use a potty. this way she can get up and off as freely as she wants but i am just not sure where to store it? should it be in her reach all day every day? do i put it out only at certain times? what happens if she reaches in and touches the wee/poo or tips it out herself. (she is the kind of kid who would do that) but most importantly how do you CLEAN it?

My girls are the opposite of yours! DD1 trained on the potty and DD2 doesn't like the potty probably because her big sister is using the seat on the toilet. Hahaha. With DD1 I had the potty on the tiles all the time with a pile of books next to it so she could enjoy sitting on it. I let her run around with no nappy on when we were at home and she would take herself eventually. We started when she was 19 months and she was fully TT at 22 months so that technique worked for us. She did pick it up a few times but got into trouble so that didn't last long. I clean ours out with those pine o cleen disinfectant wipes after tipping everything into the toilet. Hope that helps! Good luck! We're in the middle of TT at the moment here too. Our DD's are the same age

I tip into toilet. Just rinse if it's wees and clean if poos.
Wish he would sit on the toilet...
