I have always used what I call the 'traditional' fold (don't know what it's really called).....it was what we were shown in hospital too. My DS was 5lbs1oz at birth and it worked really well for him. Just make sure you have good covers!
Not sure if you've already seen it but if you google 'the nappy lady' you'll come to a page showing all different folds. This is where I got the fold I used for DD and might go back and have a look if we have a blue one this time cause some folds work better for boys.
I just had a look at the nappy lady site - brought back memories of trying to decipher those unintelligible origami books!!!! I think I'm going to have to get someone to show me IRL (or stick to MCNs!!)
LOL Ezz, I'll be honest and say that my mum helped me master the fold we ended up using for DD. She was here the other weekend and I got all my terry flats out to be washed - I said to her "go on, show me how good you are, do you remember how to do it??" and she did!! 2.5 years later.
Me, I wouldn't have a clue now and will have to learn it all over again.
