I think I heard somewhere that I need 12 cloth nappies. I'll have a newborn in just a few more weeks! We'll also be going on a flight to the US in April, when he's 2 months old. Will that mean I should buy more? I don't have a problem doing the washing often. How many is a good amount?
For a newborn I'd say try to plan on having enough nappies for 10-12 changes a day. So 12 nappies per day would be a good amount as that should still leave you 1 or 2 spare most days for those times when bub does a poo 2 minutes after you put on a clean nappy LOL. You also need to factor in how often you want to wash plus the drying time (as you'll need more nappies to use on bub whilst your waiting for the others to dry). HTH.
I think 2 dozen would be better as you have plenty to use while you are washing the dirty ones from the day before without stressing about running out of clean ones IYKWIM.
