Are Huggies pullups as absorbent as regular disposables?

I never really used pullups with DS, except for when we were TTing and we were going out to a place where dealing with an accident would be a problem. He basically went from nappies to undies and I think I only ever bought one packet of pullups.

DD on the other hand is shaping up to be one of those toddlers who are a complete PITA to nappy change, she flips over and kicks and screams and wriggles tries to get away. A sample pullup was included in the last box of Huggies we bought and on Christmas Day I tried it out on her when I was full of Christmas lunch and could not be stuffed with the nappy struggle.

Oh! So much easier!

I'm thinking about having some pullups in reserve for times when she is being particularly difficult, I don't think I'd go full time because I think they are more expensive than normal nappies, am I right?

But the main thing I'm worried about is if they are as absorbent? I love Huggies and trust them absolutely not to leak on me but are the pullups as good?

The pullups aren't designed for regular use in place of a nappy, they don't hold near as much as a nappy does and they don't keep them as dry - DS2 hates the pullups as he feels the wetness in them - which is the idea of them I suppose, but they aren't helping him to TT either so they have been put away for a while, also you will still have to try to lay her down to change a dirty nappy as pulling one of those down would be messy

DD who is 3.5 wears them overnight as she is not tt overnight - and they hold ALOT. She was in clothnappies but these are easier for her to go to the loo if she realises.
I have however just discovered babylove toddler nappiers that are basically the same - a nappy that pulls on. The pack has double the nappies for the same price and she hasn't noticed the difference except to tell me she prefers the 'elastic' on these as they aren't so scratchy lol.

So I say yes, go for it.

eta the sides tear if you need to for messy nappies.

no - definately not they do not hold as much as the normal huggies nappy pants when Tara uses them

i find teh aldi ones hold more than the huggies, and they hold my DD all day and night as she is a big wetter over night, no leaks and she refuses to wear a propper nappy as they are for teh baby lol

Pull ups are not, but Nappy pants are - huggies make both.
Pullups are for TT, nappy pants are for wriggle toddlers.
Babylove have them too.

We use the Nappy Pants on Ash for overnight. Like Ray Ray said the nappy pants are like regular nappies.

I just bought the Babylove training pants for Julia and she did a wee in them and they hardly held much at all, I prefer the huggies pullups over the babylove training pants. Do babylove make nappy pant like huggies (ie, proper nappy pants not just training pants).
