Children will learn themselves, just follow their lead
We dont make a big deal out of it. I usually wait until summer rolls round in their second year and let them go nappy and pants free. Doing "outside wees" has been a novel way to start ours and getting them to move to the toilet later on has been a non-issue. There is a potty in the bathroom and one in the kitchen (to catch the quick ones as the loo is sometime too far away lol) and it all gets taken in stride.
I havent seen any special need to have my kids out of nappies by a certain age. I dont see the point. They are ready when they are ready
