Lewis' Mummy - DS used to wake with a totally saturated nappy every single morning. It was so full it was falling off him. It really only took a night or 2 before he worked out when to wake up, and he's been quite good. He still has the occasional night time accident, but they are few and far between. I expect them to continue for a while yet... I wouldn't expect it to just stop one night.
Good luck with it! I hope your TT journey goes well.
I'd advise against using rewards - a lot of kids realise that the reward is temporary and their comfort zone needn't be. Talk more about it and the benefits of it with Lewis, avoiding terms that may induce shame and embarrassment
This is going FANTASTIC for us. 3 days and she is totally day time trained, she woke up this morning and yelled "DO DO's" (meaning, I need to go to the toilet) I was half asleep in bed and raced her out to the toilet where she did a pee, and was dry all night. WOOT!!! It works, she is only 18 months.
I'm going to start this between Christmas & New Year. The real test will be a few weeks after when we are driving from Adelaide to Melbourne and back. 2 of my friends have tried it for their kids (one girl and one boy) and are about to do it for their second children (both boys) and they swear by it.
I am just a little worried about accidents considering we're renting and the house is fully carpeted.
We ended up abandoning this method after several days of misses and endless frustration.
We have made significant progress and the little guy is pretty reliably dry during the day now, so even though this method didn't give us the results we were ultimately after, I'm sure it helped in the overall journey.
Im about to start this once the nappies run out and she gets over her cold and gastro but she is night trained not day trained so thats what I need to work on
