New potty aversion??

DS will not sit on the potty. This has been going on for a few of months, before that we were catching every morning wee and most evening ones and the odd one in between, now nothing at all. I always gave him heaps of praise.

Now he is point blank refusing. If he does by some miracle sit on it, it's only for 5 seconds then he gets off runs to the other side of the rooom and pees on the floor

I've tried not offering it for a while/ offering it and just leaving it when he's not interested/ pushing it a little (I know I probably shouldn't). Had him in cloth for the last 2 days lots of nappy free time and he's still refusing.
He'll occasionally sit on it, get up and go pee on the carpet. He *knows* when he's going - he stops what he's doing, waits and does a wee. He can even stop mid stream if he wants to and does if I tell him to, but still wont sit on the darn potty

Oh I think I found my brain lol
Have you tried the loo seat for toddlers? That way he could try going to the big toilet?
I also got some little ping pong balls and told them to aim at them and they would get a treat if they got one lol weird I know!!
I also used to make a game of it and let them run around in undies and put big stars and some books so they were entertained while trying to go lol
