Is this normal??

Hi!

My DD1 hasn't had a poo or wee accident for over four weeks. She's TT during the day and night and hasn't missed a beat until yesterday and for no reason it would seem. She was playing happily in the loungeroom when all of a sudden she said "mummy poop" which usually means she needs to go but she'd peed on the floor through her undies. She'd obviously stopped herself after a bit though because I took her to the potty and she did some more wee. A while after this though, she came and told me again but no accident this time, poo and wee on the potty. Same with this morning, she called out "mummy poop" when she was still in bed but when I went in, she was still asleep so I left her but when she got up her pants were wet. I took her to the potty straight away and she did a huge wee. I'm not worried about it too much but just want to know if this is normal or if I should be doing something else. We have been quite relaxed about TT and DD has pretty much done it all herself. We've just been very positive about it all and no negativity surrounds the accidents. As far as I'm concerned it's all part of it. Just curious as to whether accidents after four weeks of none is normal. Any stories, suggestions or comment would be greatly appreciated! :-) Nik

i would say normal , sometimes the bladder gets so full so quick it comes out , we had a party at my place the other night a 2 of the kids fully TT had accidents , 1 wee and the other a poo .

my DS sometimes gets a blockage with #2 and will do it in his pants for a few days as theres heaps of pressure in his bowel and it just comes out . i know he will grow out of it , they all do .


sometimes foods/drinks can effect how fast the bladder fills and reflills. like juice , soft drink etc

Thanks Lea. She doesn't drink anything other than water. I'm not too keen on giving her juice yet and definitely not soft drink at this age (my opinion only). I'm glad it sounds normal. Like I said, I'm not worried, just wasn't sure whether I was missing something. I wonder if I've been a bit slack with the praise.......maybe that's why.......?

Well done to your DD. Maybe she was just really invoved in her play and she was too busy to let you know till it had started.
I am sure you praise her lots! Keep up the good work your doing great...both of you x

Thanks boomba. I do give her praise but not as much as I did when she first started. I guess I just got used to her doing it! Thanks again for the support :-)
