Snugglers Vs Huggies?

I was just about to post the same thread! I got my catalogues today and was wondering if it was worth trying them out - now I'm not so sure, I would be annoyed to spend the money and then end up back using Huggies anyway Izzy sleeps from 7-6 every night and usually (read: if I do her nappy) doesn't leak! Might buy a tiny pack to trial instead of the mega bulk pack on sale!

I have tried Snugglers twice, never will again. They are the least effective nappy I have ever used, and that includes every brand you could think of including the Home Brand ones (which are actually not bad). Having always been a Huggies buyer, I now only buy Aldi nappies - heaps cheaper and just as good IMO. I just can't justify spending the money on Huggies now that I have found a cheaper brand that works just as well.

Both brands are made by the same multi-national company, Kimberly-Clark. VIP brand too.
We found the Snugglers less absorbent, but that's only a problem at night.
By day, she doesn't go long enough between poos to fill any nappy :-)

I think too that the older the baby/toddler gets, the less it matters which brand you use.
However, if you buy in bulk when they're on special, the price difference is small.

Really. I didn't know they made Snugglers too. I always used the VIPs on the girls. Huggies til they were about 4 months, then VIPs. They were always just as good as Huggies to me.
I'll just have to use Snugglers by day & Huggies by night I guess.

I found with Snugglers that DS would need a change during the night. I have also used Home Brand, Coles, Baby Love, Wollies Select and Huggies and have found Huggies are the only ones that have not leaked on me or required a nappy change during the night.

I found snugglers way less obsorbent than huggies.

With huggies, it doesnt cause nappy rash for my baby, with snugglers it does. Unfortunately i got 3 packs when they were on sale so i use snugglers during the day and huggies at night

Well we've got a Snugglers on for the night. We'll see how we go. I hate changing him through the night.

i have used snugglers with all three of my kids.. the eldest is now nearly 13. The snugglers brand has changed so much from way back then. I don't have a problem with them, other then occasionally a tab rips. But for the most part, I find them great. As others have said, I think it depends on the child, how much they wet, and how often.

I agree with Sarah_H ... I swear by SNUGGLERS & have 2 girls, others in my mums group have boys & said they leaked. Those mums swear by ALDI nappies (i only tried the smallest size & they all leaked).

However I bought one pack of 'Small' & they all leaked, but they dont come in a large box (eg: at bigw) so I bought 'Crawler' instead.
Am using 'Toddler' & 'Walker' now, no problem, majority of the time they last both my girls ALL NIGHT (they both sleep roughly 8:30pm to 7am).

Kellxx - I've had 2 boxes where the tabs have ripped off a few, so I just rang/wrote to the manufacturer 'Kimberley Clark' (same as Huggies, like Julian said) & they were very quick in apoligising & sending a replacement, they just ask for the code on the inside of the RHS tab to identify the batch they are from.

Also, make sure you get the NEW TYPE says 'Better Leakage Protection'p, NOT the OLD TYPE says 'New Grip Tabs' as I found them absolutely useless & some places still have the old stock (eg: our local chemist) & try to sell them.
They have changed the designs of the new type a few times, so hopefully where you buy them they have the latest design & not old stock.

I just find HUGGIES way too expensive, only ever bought the 'Newborn' size.

Stay with the huggies, I've not found a nappy that can compare in the amount it holds!

Yeah. They aren't too bad, but I'll be going back to Huggies after this pack. He's had nappy rash since I started using the Snugglers.

Well thats it. I've had enough. I had to change DS completely at 11pm, 5.30am & again at 7.30am. I am not buying Snugglers again. At his 5.30 change the nappy had actually come undone & he was drenched, so were his sheets. Not good when I've got no washing machine atm.
He was soaked through again after his morning sleep - about 2 hours, so I'm off to get Huggies soon.
Those thinking about it. IME Snugglers are useless!!

I have just converted from cloth to disposables and am happy to be using Snugglers for my boy knowing they are made in Australia, yet much cheaper than Huggies. I haven't had any leaks except when I've put them on crooked or loose in a tired haze I have tried many other brands and find these better than most.
Oh, and I buy them in boxes from the Nappy Palace on the Gold Coast I think for around 34 - 36c each.

With DS#1 and DS#2 i used Huggies exclusively.

With DS#3 i thought i would try saving some money so i decided to give snugglers a go for day use at home and Huggies for night use and when we are out.
Big mistake. I found the Snugglers leaked - every nappy. Got rid of them and tried the Woolworths Select brand. Have found them to be great. Havent had any trouble with them at all. They are regularly on special and i am more than happy with them for day use at home.

I use Snugglers for DD all the time and love them. Never had a problem with them. Her last nappy goes on at about 8pm (maybe even 7pm now that DLS is over) and I don't change her again until about 7am and never had any leaks.

I know this is an old thread...

I stopped using Huggies with Bubble as they were too expensive and started using Snugglers. The she started wanting a bottle through the night ans was leaking by morning so I thought I would try huggies at night. They were not better, no worse but no better.

The only nappy I have found to be more absorbent for night then snugglers are Sorbies night time ones.
