No hints hun, she has some will power. I never used the 3 day method (haven't heard of it) but when she needs to go she will go I guess, I know it's frustrating.

I hope you don't mind if I take up residence here... I really need to get on top of toilet training my boy. He knows what to do, and will usually use the potty quite happily before or after his bath, but I've just not been brave enough to try for much more than that. It's been a Summer of sickness and upheaval with moving to a new day care centre and I just haven't been in the mood to face the extra washing!
we had some success today - poop on the potty (and I wasn't home to clean it up :leap: DH had that fun today) and several wees as well both on the potty & floor  DS didn't want to wear a nappy today before I left for school (he also had a poop in the bath this morning which distressed him - he had to have a bath while I showered but that's another story). Apparently he's spent much of the day naked and refusing to wear clothes.
Back to trying to TT at CC tomorrow - hope he's got enough shorts to get through the day.
I'm back in here again.. seems DD2 is ready to TT herself and has been asking to wear knickers.
The other day we had 3 wee's on the potty but then we've been out a bit so back in nappies.
A couple of days ago DD1 came running out of DD2's room saying "OMG Z just had a little poo come out of her bum" so i run in to find a rabbit size droplet on the floor & Miss Z looking a little worried, asked if she wanted the potty she said no then crossed her legs and ran.... sat there for 5min and i was sure she wasn't doing anything then she stood up and POO's....
She's asked to wear knickers to bed 2 nights and both times has wet so i have decided it's nappies at nap & bed time but knickers on all day while we are home.
This morning we took her nappy off, and within 2 min she said she need wee's - she was on the potty and did a POO.
I've started a potty chart for her, after 5 stickers she gets a prize, then another 5 etc etc and then we extend it to 10 times but hopefully by then she's fully TT'd anyway.

I think she has the hang of it already - yesterday we were baking and she stopped and got on the potty did nothing then 5min later got on and did wee's (despite friends being here and being busy) then she spent all yesterday no nappy & had no accidents.
Last night she demanded knickers but woke wet at about 1:30 so i think we might try pull-ups at night and see how she goes - i don't expect night trained yet as she still wakes wet.
Today she's done wee's & poo's on the potty atleast 5 times and will be having an arvo nap with no nappy.
 she might be well & truly trained before 3yr old kinder next year :)
hi ladies,
do u mind if i join in here?
DS is just over 2 and i think ready to tt. lately he has been taking his nappy off and either throwing it in the bin or running around with his pants around his ankles. this morning he did a poo and said "poo, i done a poo" and tried taking his nappy off. if asked if he needs to use the toilet, he will grab our hands and take us to the toilet. he also has stood in fron of the toilet and tried pulling his pants down so he can sit on it. i am assuming these are signs they are ready?
We've gone backwards here :( but I suspect that it's because a) ds1 was a bit unwell last week and b) ds2 has arrived and ds1 wants to be a baby again

Having been going backwards at home lately; ds1 surprises us and has no accidents at childcare today AND did a poo on the toilet for the first time!!!!! (he got a chugga for first efforts when we got home)

DD started using the potty for wees about a month ago, barely any accidents - even holding on if we're out because she doesn't want to go in the pull-up. She's only done two poos on the potty, one was today though and she was soooo excited, and we did a real song and dance about it, so hoping it continues.
Just wondering though, how to transition from the potty to the toilet? She's dead set against using the toilet, but is still very shy about using the potty when we're away from home. I know it's early days, but with me going into hospital over the next few days (with any luck!!!!!), carting the potty around in the hope that she'll use it just isn't really practical right now. Any tips? We have a kids' toilet seat at home to go onto the toilet but she's just really anti using it.
dd has tried a few toilet seat inserts but wasn't keen. i think she didn't feel secure. i then picked up one of the seats with the ladder attached and she is much happier . th seat is much more stable, and it also gives her something uder her feet.
We've got one of those too HotI - no luck there either.
I guess it's just time, was just wanting to help her.
We have one of those toilet seat inserts, and whenever DS climbs onto the toilet, it slips around (although it's secured as much as it can be inside the rim of the toilet seat itself). Can anyone recommend something that is a little more sturdier than the insert seats? I'm not sure about the ladders.
DS is scared of falling in the toilet, which is why he's avoiding training... and he's not interested in using a potty... sigh.
i bought one that looked great from bunnings. you have to take your current toiket seat off and replace it with this other one. It is screwed down so doesn't wobble at all. It has a normal toilet seat, then a kids toilet seat that folds down, then the lid.
unfortunately the fastenings (screw bits) couldn't attach to my toilet so i couldn't use it. i wish it did though!
i have a pic on my phone so will try to put it n here.
DS1 loves his special toilet seat, but he just likes to sit on the toilet and read books and sing songs!!
He hardly ever uses it ... but he uses the potty just about every time.
Our last 2 TT efforts were complete failures in terms of staying dry over naps and over night, but he now knows exactly what to do with the potty ... small steps, I guess ...
I'm wondering whether pull ups will help him learn about staying dry, but I'm guessing if undies didn't, then maybe he's just not ready ... ?

Ok I'm putting my tough jocks on and joining everyone here. DS1 is 2.8, has occasionally done wees on the toilet and gets the whole concept. I've been delaying in a way because I don't think I was ready to deal with toilet training. I was going to wait for warmer weather but I don't think that's fair to DS if there's a good chance he is ready.
Advice please - he's very busy and doesn't like to be deviated from whatever he is doing. How often should I encourage him to sit on the toilet?

How long does the hide to poo stage last? Ds1 is doing this and it's driving us crazy - wees in potty or toilet fine (we haven't worried as to which he uses) but pops in undies/pull ups/night nappy. He's got the concept but refuses to use potty or toilet - apparently they're only for little poos not big ones :wall: he knows that he'll get a Chugga and/or a sticker book if/when he pops on either. He's quite happy to talk about it when he has pooed. He's keen on the sticker book but just won't poo in loo or potty.
