TT advice please!! We were doing so well!

I am hoping that someone can tell me that this is "normal", and that my mind is racing over nothing.

DD 2.5 decided a coiuple of weeks ago that she was a big girl and didn't wear nappies anymore. We have been going SOOOOOOO well. We got to the point of no accidents at all over the last few days, but still no poos in the toilet (I figure that will come).
She has been so proud of herself (as we have of her) doing her wees in the toilet and I was beginning to think that it is so true when 'they' say to only do this when your child is ready, as it's been a lot easier than I expected. She's even been having dry nappies in the morning.

I have been so happy, because I really didn't feel like toilet training in the last couple of weeks of my pregnancy.

    Until today.........

She went to the toilet once. Well, one and a half times (we got there half way through on one of them).
She went 4 times on the family room floor (thank the Big Fella that it's tiled). And me at 38 weeks pregnant wasn't too happy about having to clean it up each time.

I have done my best to make sure that the frustrations were not taken out on her, and tried to keep upbeat about the accidents as I have for 2 weeks, but I'm sure that it showed through. I didn't scold her, but I'm sure that she felt the frustration.

My question is.......is this normal for them to be doing so well and then just....well.... not? And is it possible that it continued through the day because I was frustrated?
Someone please tell me that it's going to be possible to pick this up again...........

My advice would be not to go back to nappies. I found stickers and little button chocolates worked well with Mackenzie. I have heard that once baby arrives things can go backwards but try and perserver. Also try the towelling knickers which you can get from the supermarket or k-mart etc. I found them to be good when we were training. Good luck and just try and not give up.

Kisrt, it is such a tricky one. What you descrobe is pretty mcuh exactly what happened with Olivia. She TT'd very early (just turned 2), and for the first 2 weeks it was EASY.......it was all lead by her & it was a walk in the park, for wees and poos.

But then after about 2 weeks we had some regression. To this day, I have no idea why. (Charlie was about 6 months, I was just pg with Lexie, so I have a feeling she picked up on my stress)

I was in a dither as I was due to go OS and I didn't know what to do: back to nappies, or forge ahead?

Anyway, I think we had all been a bit "complacent", so we had a few "at home days" where I tired to remain really happy cheerful Mummy, no TV, lots of craft and one on one, (I got DH t take Cahrlie out a lot!) and it all slotted into place again...............

Obviously they are all different, but my experiecne was that she just needed reasurrance that the toilet was a great, & a lot of one on one time, and a calm Mummy, to help her through the little regression..........

(To this day we have had zero accidents, so I am one proud Mummy!)

Yep - I would imagine you can expect some sort of regression when the baby comes, all the "books" say to expect it.
I was told not to bother TTing jenna before Hamish came alogn despite the fact she was showing all the signs.
About 3m ago she decided to train herself, so its generally been pretty easy, and while there have been a few accidents, generally they are related to not being able to get her pants off in time when she's been distracted.
I second the few days at home theory to get it all back into place, but really, take it as it comes. There is no point getting stressed about soemthing that will eventually happen!

    Thanks guys.

I was expecting the regression after the baby was born, but not before. I wouldn't be doing it at all now except she's insisted, and is pretty much doing it herself like Jenna. I'm still expecting it after bubs is here though.

Today we had a very good 'at home' day. No TV, lots of outside play, lots of reminders to go, and heaps of praise. No accidents - YAY!!!!!

Again, thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.
