I am not at the TT phase yet but have watched a close friend TT my god son and her 3 other boys. She had them all in a combination of cloth and disposable but found training pants a god send when TT. She thought it helped them to learn when they were wet (what being wet felt like).

I do know she waited until her boys showed an interest in the toilet and what went on in the loo when others were in there. I think most of the boys were 2 or older.
