I am just about to switch both boys over from sposies to MCN (Fitted and AIOs) and am wondering what impact this will have on Jack's TT. He is currently using the toilet a few times a day (nearly always for wee only), but wearing undies isn't working well as he doesn't like to stop playing to go to the toilet.
My thoughts are this:
MCN might aid tt bcos he will feel more uncomfortable in a wet nappy, and bcos they will get him more used to the feel of underwear (ie not plastic!).
MCN might hinder tt bcos they will be harder for him to get off by himself than a sposie (esp with a cover) and bcos they are nice colors and feel more like his undies so the undies might not be so much of a novelty and therefore less appealing.
What do you think? Or have you experienced? Will they help or hinder?
I haven't reached the TT stage yet.. but I'm pretty sure there are cloth training pants you can get.. more absorbent than just undies.. but easily taken down.. kinda like pull-ups I guess. Can't remember where I saw them tho.
Yeah, Melanie, what about training pants with a booster or something? (Again, I've never TTed a kid, so I'm pulling that one out )
FWIW, I've seen my 18mo nephew remove his MCN very quickly and easily. He pulled the velcro tab, so I put it back again, so he pulled it off again - looking me in the eye the whole time
I was looking at pants called Simple SImons training pants. mmmm I think it was on the twins in Cloth site. they look like a good idea for the almost TT toddler.
I think Bummis' have training pants, they look like they are 'undie' style... hmmm, maybe on the WeeWuns site? Nurture Nappies have some training pants too.
I haven't TT'ed either - but my friend has used the cloth training pants for her DD. Have a look at the Bright Bots website (just google Bright Bots). They are listed under "Baby Essentials"
