yep, I`d get him back in nappies. Dont make a fuss, just tell him his big boy undies are being packed away till he feels he`s big enough to wear them. And remind him thats when he knows when he needs to do pee and can do it on the potty/toilet.
Then I`d just put them away and not talk about it in front of him for a month or 6!
Menawhile have a look round at what other options/tactics you`d could be using to help make the transition easier for him...perhaps he`s not familiar enough with the toilet area? or maybe he`d be better using training pants first? Try and have a look at it all from his height and point of view. And when the time comes again, you could try some incentive like a sticker chart ???
Hope thats of some help - dont worry though, he`ll get there, its not worth making a fuss over (they can pick up on that anxiety too).
ps. also, since you have a new baby at home, just let him get used to that. The overload of new baby and TT could be a bit much for him just now. And when babies a bit bigger every now and then you could just mention when changing babies nappy an emphasis on 'little baby' and 'wearing nappy'...and that could add to the penny dropping if he`s just not quite there yet.
eta - i also just thought of a good book about learning to use the toilet could be helpful too if you dont already have one.
