    Washing nappies?

Girls what do you wash your nappies in to begin with and how many times? Do you use softener and is there a brand for sensative types.
I also have purchased a hemp beehind to try.Do you need to wash this 3 times to begin with? thanks

Dont use softener cause it builds up on the nappies and can cause rash! Sensitive omo or amolin or something similar isprobably best for sensitive skin. I just use half the amount of normal powder, and do an extra rinse. I find thats fine.
Definitly wash the hemp a few times before using - it takes about 10 washes to get to its full absorbancy.
    Have fun!

Fabric softener also can affect the absorbancy..making it repel the water rather than soak it up. I've used a bit of bicarb to try and soften them a bit, but I find the best is 10mins in the dryer to finish off the drying Mind you, I don't use much hemp, so I dunno how soft you can get that anyway.
