DD is only 15 months (almost) i bought a potty a while ago, just to have it around so she would be used to seeing it, not with the intention of toilet training yet. She always watches us go to the loo. Now she has started to tell me when she has been to the toilet, while she is doingbit or just after the fact she will tell me 'wee wee' or 'poo poo' and take my hand a take me to the nappy table to change. Or says potty (but she has always finished by this time). Should i be taking it to the next step and getting her to use the potty or just keep praising her for what she is doing atm. Surley she is too young to potty train?!?
Just try sitting her on it maybe once or twice a day... I do it with DD before shower and before bath (she used to actually use it but she seems to have forgotten how now )
And if you have any luck make a big fuss of her. Can't hurt to try hey?
There's no harm in giving her a go and seeing if she takes the bait! DD1 was showing all the signs of being ready to TT from about 14 or 15 months, we didn't actually accomplish much until her 2nd birthday but I had no expectations of when she would get the hang of it, so I just went with the flow. Maybe because of the warmer weather we're heading into you might find it a bit easier - let her get around naked and that seems to help them figure it out, as they don't have the backup of a nice, absorbent nappy.

I had myself convinced that DD1 would be starting school and still in nappies because things went terribly for a little while, but it's all sorted now and she even has day-naps naked/in underpants, so we're definitely getting there now
give it a go. dd1 first wee'd on toilet at 10 months (good timing on my part) but it was a long TT journey for starting that early./ she is really good now @ 3yrs.
like you said donna, i think it will be easier as its warmer now, she can just run around nude. I guess i just watch her and when she looks like she is going to do something i pop her on the potty. ? Luckily we have wooden floors so its not such a problem if we have an accident. would be a pain with carpets!! lol.
but like you said hollo, just cause they start young doesnt meen they get the hang of it quicker!

^ Yup, that's what I did with DD, just popped her on the potty/toilet a few times a day and told her that if she needed to go, this was the place to do it. We have polished floorboards here too which made it a lot easier in regards to accidents, of which we had PLENTY for a while But now she's learned that she can stop it and hold onto it until I take her to the toilet (we have to keep the door shut because she destroys toilet paper, and I don't like her using the potty because when she's done something she picks the potty up to show us and usually tips it everywhere, UGH!), so we're getting much better.
It will take some time, though, and I had my moments of wanting to tear my hair out and stopping the whole thing, but by then she'd decided she liked being nudie-rudie and refuses now to wear clothes at all unless we're actually going out somewhere hahaha
