How to reduce nappy bucket odour??

    Hi

I hope this hasn't been posted before but has anyone got ideas on reducing the odour in nappy buckets? I wash at least every 24 hours but it can still get pretty stinky in that time.

    TIA!

Do you have a top-loading washing machine?

I fill mine up in the morning, chuck in a bit of nappy san and then empty the bucket into the machine a couple of times a day. I then wash at the end of the day & hang out for drying over night.

    Hope that helps!

I'm assuming you dry pail??? If so, you can buy commercial nappy bucket balls that smell wonderful, but are very $$$. You could try putting some bicarb soda in the bottom and a couple drops of your favourite essential oil and then throw it all in when it's time to wash.

Yes I dry pail - the MCNs I use recommend dry pailing rather than soaking.

Thanks for the bicarb suggestion - I'll try that with some lavender essential oil.

I rinse mine out with some drops of eucalypus oil. It tends to linger there rather than the nappy smell!
