    bamboo booster making advice

i bought some 425gsm bamboo fleece to make boosters- but i think it's too heavy to double up and sew into shape. so if i leave it single sided and cut it into size to use as prefolds, won't it all curl up? what would you do (without an overlocker) to make boosters out of heavy duty bamboo? it's for use in pockets.

it will curl up if you dont overlock the edges, does your regular machine have any sort of edging or overlock stitch? SOme do...

yes, there's a stretch overlock and elastic overlock stitch, arrowhead and feather stitch. or would i use a triple zigzag stretch stitch? i guess i better have a play around....

Doubling it up is fine! You can make nice thirsty trifold boosters that way.

raven i've tried doubling it up, but yet to see how long it will take to dry... i'd love to make double layer trifolds but it's so thick- almost as bulky as folding up a terry flat. maybe it'll flatten out after it's been washed a few times. it's great tho- it must be ultra thirsty coz when i washed it on it's own in the machine, the cycle stopped mid way because the balance was out-it's so damn heavy when wet. can't wait to use it.

Yeah it's really heavy when it's wet! It will loose a bit of fluff with the first couple of washes. If you can give it a little whirl in the dryer that will help get rid of excess fluff too. Don't dry it the whole way in the dryer though or it will take ages
