Can you use old cotton/polyester sheets are prefolds?

    If i cut them up for newborn prefolds to say a 3 x 6 x 3 configuration
would these be absorbant or does it need to be straight cotton(planning on using in a PUL cover

Pollycotton sheets are usually 50/50 so I don't think that they would make very good prefolds.

But if you did want to use them for something put several layers together and they would make nice burp cloths for your shoulder.

I know no-one has been in this thread for abit but thought i would give it a go....

i want to make some pre-folds.. and these are the materials i have currently...

nappy flannel, blue flannel, and some micro-terry towelling, do you think with a backing of terry towelling then the flannel against bubs butt these would work as prefolds??

Just be wary about how many layers you put in there. Maz had an ebay nappy made from 6 layers of flanelette that took forever to dry apparently.

That massive spotlight that I *think* is near you had a lot of flannelette on the bargain tables last I was there. $4/mtr, I think, probably because near end of winter?

ETA: Whoops. Snugglybean had too much Moet and didn't read the dates. Sorry!
