Pre-washing Fabric

Thanks maz ... I would have pre-washed the finished product, but was worried about shrinking this is all new to me I'm definatly going to wash the cotton flannel, my mom told me that some cottons shrink and I don't want that.

oh yes the flannel....and if your worried about the fabric fraying (sp?) just over lock over the cut hon

oooo you are going to regret that There is not really anyone intrested in this around me atm and my mom would say "hon that's pretty" even if it were made from plastic shopping bags and oil rags. So all my bragging has to be done online, keep ya peepers open

EEEEkkkk fraying. Do not have an overlocker yet (my mother burned out her overlocker's motor - don't ask ) and my nanny at home has already threw them in the wash, bugger ... I'll see how much they frayed when I get home. Don't think it would be too much, but the white flannel looked like a "looser" weave than the other. Oh well, lesson learned, right?

Can't WAIT to get sewing and a diaper making.

if you dont have an over locker next time just turn the edge of the fabric over and do a quick zig zag

Zanks for the tip. I'm nagging DH for a second-hand one But after my little excursion to the fabricshop ... I don't know if he will be so flexible hehehehe
