    Sewing a Change Mat

Since I accidentally left the change mat that came with my nappy bag in a parents room one day, I thought I'd make myself another one. At first thought, I was going to put flannelette over a waterproof layer, maybe PUL, but I have been thinking about it a bit more, and there really isn't any need for it to be waterproof, is there? If it gets weed on, it can just get thrown in the next load of nappies for washing.
So, perhaps just two layers of flannelette with a layer of terry towelling sandwhiched in between to give it a bit of softness?

Interested in hearing others' thoughts on this.

I would be more inclined to do a Fleece top so if Jambin does wee on it its not going to feel wet on him KWIM. I would do a Flannel bottom, some terry towelling for softness/absorbant then toped with Fleece.

Aahh ... good idea! I've got heaps of fleece lying around atm too, and some coordinating flannelette, so that's definitely doable. Thanks
