What would you cover microfiber with?

Thanks megsmum, I was just looking on the IttiBitti site and the bitti boos's do sound totally lush! There was one orange small left but I don't like the orange too I will keep my eye on the site though cause bubs is due in Sep so plenty of time... It's a shame that you need a cover for total waterproofing. It looks like itti Bitti also sell microbifre snap ins, not sure if they would go under the velour one or on top but they would still get handled.

Lime Slice, I wonder if there are different kinds of microfiber and the stuff they use in the nappies/boosters is ok? Thanks for easing my fears... I will have a bit more of a think about it...

No worries. So long as you have a layer of something between it and prolonged contact with the skin it is completely harmless...
Although it doesn't feel nice necessarily lol touching it whilst folding washing etc is again is completely harmless. Charlotte's dad won't fold them cos he can't touch the stuff, gives him the chills, the sensation from it, but it is harmless.

hey hun, I have to say wait and see before you get rid of them. I am allergic to lots and have dreadful skin, we have a few microfibre stuffers and I really like them and have never had an issue. i just wouldn't base my whole stash around it.
FWIW I hate ittis and that awful stuff they use as an inner, so everyone has different preferences IYKWIM?

Cherished, the itti microfibre boosters snap on underneath the main booster if that makes any sense? It isn't in contact with bubs skin, but yes you will have to handle it. I have some of them and TBH I don't use them much, I prefer the bamboo mini boosters instead. But you won't need them for a newborn anyway cause they don't generally wee enough to justify it YK? As for the inners, the bitti d'lish and the bitti boos don't have the same inner. The boos are bamboo velour inner, the d'lish are suedecloth - the stuff that Kim mentions I'm guessing? I don't mind the suedecloth, but definitely prefer the bamboo velour - its natural and its soft and a far better option when in prolonged contact with bubs skin eg. at night. Only the one drawback - its not staydry like suedecloth or microfleece.

One other thing too, you might change you mind about a cover when you have your 1st poo blowout LOL Its a good extra line of defense!!

megsmum oh I intend to use a cover lol! that's why I said it's a shame to cover that lovely velour... Iv'e got such a weak stomach as it is and have said to dh several times that I can't believe I even want to use MCN's and to be handling it all rather than the quicker/throw away spossies! I've got bamboo terry and bamboo fleece prefolds for the newborn so that I can use them as boosters in pocket stuffers when bubs is older... I know it will be ample for the little one though but thought if I'm spending the money it may as well be reusable later kwim.

Yeah I know what you mean I like to think of it the same as wearing nice undies LOL no one sees them but you know!! Also, when the weather is warm and we're at home E goes coverless anyway. If you have enough boosting, then it takes awhile for the outer of the nappy to get wet anyway.

Don't worry about the weak stomach hun, you'll lose it ROFL And another suggestion, get a Little Squirt to make cleaning off the poo easier.
