I have got some microfiber boosters & some eenee microfiber rectangle nappies but I have found out that microfiber can be really drying on bubs bum and on my hands so I was wanting to cover them with a different fabric so that I am not handeling the microfiber all the time. But I have noticed that the microfiber sticks to some fabrics (like cotton I think) so what would you suggest to cover them with so that the microfibre and the cover don't bunch up iykwim? I intend to use the boosters in a pocket nappy when bubs is older but before that I was going to use them and the rectangle nappies just folded up with a liner on top in a newborn cover. Any help would be great, thanks
You would want a 'stay-dry' fabric, one that wicks the moisture away from your LOs bum and traps it in the microfibre. You can use microfleece or microsuede for this. The microfleece is easiest and is super cheap.
If you want a 100% natural fibre against bubs skin you can use Raw Silk liners - you can buy these as liners from online stores or buy the silk online and cut it yourself.
:yeahthat: to stop it bunching you could just sew it into whatever you choose and just do a couple of stitch lines down the middle so nothing moves...no biggie.
Personally I'd go with something natural and lush like bamboo velour Lovely and soft against bub's bottom. Also it will absorb moisture as well, microfibre can be prone to compression leaks so tends to work better with another absorbent material. I never had a lot of luck with it myself unless I teamed it with something absorbent.
I third velour...weather its cotton or bamboo velour...NEVER EVER put plain microfibre directly on skin. It can cause all sorts of skin problems....We have layers between it and mini me's bottom and it still gets red and dry
you can get velour from some of the on line store...even get someone to make you some liners to put over the top or get down to your spotlight and get some microfleece and cut it up as liners..no need to sew it as it doesnt fray
