    Leaking nappies!!!

    Hi everyone,

I need some advice re: nappy covers!

My daughter is now just over a month old and I've been using plain old flat nappies, mainly muslin and more recently have moved on to flannellette.. but am having huge problems with leaking.

I'm using BBH PUL nappy covers, and sometimes they seem to work but sometimes it seems to leak everywhere all up her back!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I'm making sure to tuck the nappy in so that the cover covers the entire nappy.. etc etc.. but sometimes it seems that everything just leaks straight through the cover, not even out of the sides?!

Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong.. or is this part and parcel of using old fashioned cloth nappies?

    Thanks,
    Maisarah

hhmmm not really sure as i haven't used the trad flats before...but a possibility is that maybe they are folded too small? not sure, but that would be my first guess...going by what happens with ours.

sorry i cant be more helpful!

i would say you need to change more frequently. They seem over saturated and PUL is breathable so it will leak if there is too more liquid in there to contain (hence why it is better than plasstic pants),

When DS was in prefolds (flannelette) i would change him every 1-1.5hrs.
Bamboo was more absorbant and would last 2-3hrs.
