    Look into the GAPS program. It heals the gut lining and reestablishes gut bacteria and completely heals depression which is a gut issue, it has to do with the gut-brain connection. Theres huge amounts of people testifying to it. Only using food too.

    Sometimes a person with depression tends to complain about pains in some part of their body when it doesn't hurt physically but mentally, their mind makes them believe so because of their current mind setting. Any chance that might be the case with the sharp stabbing in his ear?

    Girl 23, CQ was asking about her partner who has advanced cancer in that part of his head/ear. So the pain is physically real, although I take your point about emotional pain being felt physically.

    I'd be getting him down to the beach and out into the national park/botanical gardens etc as much as possible
