So we have had some developments since I posted that we were "starting to get stressed"
Now we are actually stressed
After a mysterious discharge and a late nite trip to the Mercy at Heidelberg ( a good hour and a half from where we live and where DS was born and Sal is being cared for as a high risk pregnancy ) we have found out that her cervix is shortening ( from 3.2 at 20 weeks to 1.7 now, four weeks later ).
She is now on bed rest at the Mercy until baby arrives or she reaches 35 weeks.
Steroids are done, second and last dose tonight and pessaries are happening as well, so she is in the best possible place for anything to happen.
BUT we obviously don't want a 24 weeker !!!! So, praying that he stays in there for AT LEAST another four weeks and hoping for another eight just to be on the safe side. One week at a time!
It's going to be a really long three months, as I am now Charlie's primary carer on my own with my wonderful Mum helping when she can but also having to find another job as I can't continue where I am during these circumstances, for reasons too numerous to mention, only being able to work the two days he is in care and having to do the trips back and forth so that Mum and DS can see each other and I can spend time with my wife.
It is definitely a poor us thread today....
Just wanting to say all the best for the path ahead, the working, the traveling, the parenting and the worrying. May your little one stay where he is for some time yet and be born a healthy little boy. Good luck
I am so sorry to hear that things are not going the way you had hoped. I have my fingers crossed that bub stays put for a little while yet. Sending you all hugs and strength to get through the next months
XOXO
