Totally understand hun.... Can you put her in a sling for the night?
I hate how people think everything is fine now just because you've been discharged grrr

So amelia has been home now for just over 2 weeks.
We've been through our tough times with family who really won't co operate with rules we have set. Such as the no smoking around her and smokers wearing a smoking jacket etc. They just don't understand that her lungs and how underdeveloped they were... And the risk of SIDS is so high for Prems. Like we haven't got enough on our plate already.
We are supposed to be going to an engagement party tonight. I am so worried. Apparently both DH and my mil have said that she will be passed around all night. I don't want that happening at all so I'm tempted to not go at all.Gahh

oh that annoys me so much! i think some people think that babies are there for them to just man handle grrr. i hated that when DS was so little
as for us, we decided this morning that in july after DH's 30th birthday we would revisit the idea of maybe ttc for #2. i am really worried that i will have all the same complications again and have another premmie but i guess we will just have to see what happens.
That scared me so much with DD.
My advice (I couldn't do this as I hadn't thought of it) is to put her in your Sleepy Wrap (or whatever brand you have) and keep her in that all night.
I totally get feeling like that. When DS2came home I told DS1 school teacher that I wanted DS1 to meet me at the car so I wouldn't have to take DS2 out. Also had the rule for smokers that they couldnt hold/breathe on him for at least 30-45 min after they had a ciggy. And DS2 was fairly healthy.
To help others understand I got info posters from the hospital, so if anyone questioned me I'd give them the sheet of paper & "my doctor told me".
Best of luck with everything. FX your little miss stays healthy & grows stronger quickly.![]()
I hated people thinking the twins were a special case and needed passing from one person to the next they are babies not toys!
Finally at 10.5 months old Jackson can sit unaided now just waiting to see when Lleyton does it.
Had a good appt with the respiritory team last week no more appts until the boys are 12 months. Although they werent patients the bi-weekly day trips were starting to really get to me.
I cant believe they are one soon - what a rollercoaster!

So Milly got passed from one person to the other...I cracked it at DH because she hadn't had a sleep and she was out in the music, the cold, and being passed around.
I'm still mad at DH and won't speak to my mil because she was the one palming her off to people I didn't know, then keeping her awake. (i was the photographer for the engagement last night so I had left her in a warm room sleeping peacefully till DH and Mil pulled her out when I specifically told them no.
Sorry for the rambling. I'm soooooo MAD.

I know the feeling. I'm so sorry, Lysn.

hugs hun, I'd be ****ed too, especially as she was sleeping!
Hi Ladies, I'm just popping in to say hi and to subscribe to the thread! I am currently almost 26wks preg and due to medical reasons (I have half a uterus) my bubs will be a premmie baby. Not to sure when yet, we are hoping to get to 34wks!
Welcome mc_hope! I really hope you can get to 34 weeks+
Best of luck mc_hope! I'm pregnant also, with high risk of a prem as my last bub came 7 weeks early with no warning. Hoping this one behaves () & stays put.

Good luck, mc! Make sure you ask any questions, I'll be happy to answer the ones that i can. It's probably best to start organising a breast pump now if you are planning to breastfeed, just in case a SCN stay is required.
Just a quick vent from me: I had some random stranger come up and say how small Hannah is. I smiled politely and kept walking and then had a cry in the car.
I even had a premmie mum mention to me how small Hannah is for 15 months.
She's still in alot of 00s and is 8.1kg and 73cm tall. I'm so sick of being told how small she is. She's 15 months old. It's time for people to accept that she's a petite little muffin.
Happy things now: She's walking more and more. Today she has started standing up in the middle of the floor and is just walking for the sake of it. It's sooo cool!
Oh, one more bad thing: She's started pulling things off the bathroom vanity and can nearly reach the kitchen bench. Eeep.
::hugs:: Charlotte
If it makes you feel better I have a friend with a 12 month old that is only 8kg & she was full term.
People can be so mean sometimes.

My DS1 is nearly 9. He was born at 34w due to IUGR and P/E. He weighed 1.9 kilos.
He's still just about the smallest kid in his class. But he certainly makes up for it with attitude. I'm sure all your premmies will be just the same.
welcome mc_hope and fingers crossed for you.
Everyone guesses how old the twins are everyone says 4-5 months though they are almost 11. They were 2.1 & 2.5kg at birth and just gone into 00 it drives me crazy people are they crawling yet? oh! they should be maybe you should get them checked ... people dont get full term bubs are VERY different

Charlotte, Hannah is doing so well! Especially given everything she has been through.
DS1 is 5 and although underweight he is almost average in height, and he definitely has his own little personality and attitude.
This birthday was the first of his that I did not have a mental breakdown. Every year in the past I have almost ended up in the hospital from the stress, panic attacks, etc, from reliving his birth. This year *touches wood* he hasn't had any major issues and is thriving in school (considering his ASD, SPD, developmental delays, speech disorder, etc, etc). It really does get easier, it just might take a little while x
Feel like crap. DH is soothing amelia, finally got her quiet.
I couldn't even settle my own girl.![]()
