My DD was born at 36 weeks weighing 6lb 12 oz.. by 6 months she was 8.2kg.. she never gained anything after that for some reason but was fine and is finally gaining weight and is now 11kg at nearly 2
Thanks for that ladies, good to know she is probably fine. As for solids did your LO's start on them any later? We don;t seem to be overly interested in them really, she shows all the signs (other then being extra hungry which she never has been), always grabbing what I'm eating & will try a bit of anything on our plate but as soon as we put her in high chair & make something for her she just doesn't want to know, occasionally she will really go for it & polish off a plate load but most of the time she won't even take a mouthful....could be her teeth I suppose. I just panic sometimes cause she is not far off being 7 months now & we are not even taking 1 solids meal a day yet.
It sounds like you DD is keen on just eating what you have, which is great and it actually Baby Led Solds (BLS), here is a link to Baby Led Solids Section a part of the forum all about it all about it, I would definitely follow the BLS path rather that making "special" food
Spooky after I typed the last post I went to the solids forum & saw the BLS, it was like a breath of fresh air reading that, it all fits! Have just tried DD on some mashed potato & greens with a cheesy bread stick & a spoon. Left her to it, she promptly stuck the bread stick in her gob loaded with mash & sucked it, then tried the spoon & in the end her hands were in the bowl (& head at 1 point but we can work on that 1 later!), wouldn't say that she actually ate anything but at least she was interested & knew what to do with it, will keep offering her food along these lines & see what happens. Thanks for the tip!
I am thrilled you found the tread and that it seems as though it is the path for you, a clsoe BB friend has a little boy who was low on the weight side and she followed the BLS path and he has done extremely well and has certainly caught up
