starangelk - I was also leaning towards the City Select. The idea of putting the capsule on the frame was very attractive. However when I went and had a push in the shop, it was far too long in the front for my liking. Felt like I was driving a bus! My bee really has spoilt me.
March onwards should be fine. Bubs is not due until June so even if there is a delay I'll be fine. I prefer slings when they are that little anyway so really won't need it until late August.
Totally the same reason that I turned away from the CS!! Too bus like. I said to DH "OMG, DD in the front will probably get her legs rammed because I'll push it into something."
Our plan (not that you asked, but it helps me understand if I write it down!) is to keep the Bugaboo Bee and use that when I'm out with one bub. DS got a trike with a push pole for his birthday and loves it, so when both DH and I are together Mitchell will go on his trike and new bub will go in the Bee. The Baby Jogger City Mini Double will really only be used when I'm out with both on my own (park, shopping etc).
I'm also going to buy a Mutsy Step-Up Board for the Bee. Google tells me that it is the best fit for the 2009 Bee. When Mitchell grows out of the City Mini Double (either through size or being Mr Independent) he can stand on the toddler board.
I did want to avoid 2 prams but we will save over $1,000 doing it this way.
Good plan! We'll only have a 16 month gap all things going well so I don't think I can expect DD to go on step behind the cameleon......can I? It would be SO much easier...... We'll use a sling too, probably more for DD though. Hmmmm - food for thought - thanks!
I don't think Mitchell will be on the toddler board until he's around 3 years old. I'm sure he could physically do it soon but he's a total cheeky monkey so I don't think he could be sensible about it until he's around 3.
That being said, I am going to buy the mutsy board now. Because the new Bee+ fits the Bugaboo toddler board the ones that will fit the 2009 Bee are not really being made any more. Already I can't get the mutsy board in Aus, so will have to get it from the US.
If we were starting having babies now I'd probably get the Donkey as it really would be the only pram I'd need. We had thought of selling the Bee and putting the money towards the Donkey but we use it so regularly it's starting to get worn which will bring down the second hand sale price. We paid just under $1000 and I don't know if I'd get $500 for it now, especially with the Bee+ being available.
Don't get me started on slings. I am a total addict when it comes to those.
Hi, i was just wanting to know of you who own the baby jogger city mini double do you find it difficult to access the basket? And what it is like over uneven surfaces?
I am not sure if to buy this or another double stroller.
I love the fact its easy to fold and light but i live in the country and for me to see these in person is difficult.
I'm not sure as I don't have mine yet. And I would be mainly using it on footpaths and in shopping centres.
Baby Gizmo have great reviews on Youtube of this pram that you should check out. That should give you a better idea of how it works without actually seeing one. I'll PM you the link.
