Hi, I don't have a barina, but I would suggest going to a baby equip shop and ask if you can try some capsules/prams in your car to see what fits best. I'm sure they could give you some good advice anyway
All the best!
Anyone out there with a Barina hatch? I'm wanting to find out from someone who's got one, what brands/model of pram and capsule you can fit in them. I've seen lots of ladies driving them with bubs in the back so it must be doable but all the prams I'm seeing look a little big. I love my Barina and really don't want to have to get rid of it if I can avoid it.

How much did you want to spend? We have a Mini Cooper and we have a Quinny Buzz. It fits into the boot in stroller (seat) mode nicely, but its a tight fit in bassinet mode. It fits because it breaks into parts - seat, chassis, wheels. But its not cheep.
We went to a couple of baby shops and asked if we could try out different prams in the boot. That ruled out most of them pretty quickly.
Regarding a car seat, we found a capsule fits better than a convertible in rear mode. The convertible seats have a higher back which comes out more when in rear facing mode, pushing the front seat so far forward that for our car it seemed dangerous. If you want to keep costs down you could hire a capsule. I think the S&S Unity is slightly shorter in length than the classic S&S capsule - its got a higher weight limit too.
i used to fit a twin shopper pram as well as Fitnesswise twin jogger sitting upright( not at the same time!) in the back of a 1990 barina. go for a pram that folds up small- doesn't matter about the witdth of the pram- just the depth when folded
a shopper would fit better than a jogger i suspect
You can fit anything i a barina!
I have a Corolla hatch back which is not much bigger in the boot and I have bought a layback umbrella fold stroller. I bought the Steelcraft Profile as part of the safew n sound unity travel system which ibcludes a compact baby capsule that comes out of the car and clicks into the stroller. The Stroller was $150, the capsule is about $290. Maclaren and Peg Perego do some nice umbrella fold strollers that are a bit more expensive if that is what you are after.
Good Luck
i would say go to your baby store and they will take prams and car seats out to your car and see what fits best!! not sure where you are but in melbourne we have a store called baby bunting!!
I have an 06 swift (hatch) and went to a few baby stores, and got them to try things out. I ended up getting a safe n sound compaq car seat, which just fits in the rearward facing position (rests on front seat) but other than that it fits fine, and was the best fit. Besides The hi-pod, but when turned around the other way (child position) the childs head would of just about been hitting the roof.
I also got a peg perego pramette, fits perfect in the hatch and is an awesome pram! I also found a 3 wheeler that fits, a love'n' care x-trail.
GOODLUCK I know how frusterating it all is![]()
We also have a Mini Cooper, What capsule did you end up getting Leebee? We are finding the safe n sound Unity tricky to fit in well, they all seam to move around so much!
We have a Phil and Teds sport pram which firs really well into our boot, leaving space for a bag of shopping or two as well....we do need to take out the parcel tray and one of the wheels just pops off too... very easy.
If your looking for a three wheeler phil and teds e3 is great. It folds virtually flat.It great if you are planning on more kids in the future as you can buy the doubles attachment etc.
dont have a barina but i know the shops will be more than happy to let you take prams and seats out to try before you buy!!!
