    i agree with the others it is for the visual aspect only.

    we had a moses basket and it doesnt come with a hood and is a 'basinette' type sleep arrangement.

    yep we also have a moses basket and this has nothing near the head. you dont need it.

    *snap* LOL! i cant believe we were neighbours (with our moses baskets and bugaboos lol!) and didnt know it LOL!

    I have a bassinet with a hood and I used it to put mozzie netting over. We had a lot of spiders and bugs and stuff so it was very helpful.

    Oooh, thanks for your fab replies ladies! I really wasn't sure if there was an important purpose to it that I hadn't thought about!
