    Bassinet question...

    Hello!

    Just a quick question...

I am looking at buying a bassinet, and I rather like the Kingparrot Bassinet. BUT, it doesn't have anything over the head-area. Like, all the other bassinets have either a hood or canopy type thing, but this one doesn't. I really really like it...but just not sure...can anyone tell me if they need to have a hood/canopy?

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they are just for show hun. Cots don't have anything over the head area....if you like it go for it.

We didnt have anything over our bassinette. I think they ar ejust for show, not a neccessity. If you like it go for it. Just remmeber they are not in them for very long. I think DD was in hers for 10weeks then she started to get to big for it.

They sure don't have to have anything over the head. I found a nice large one second hand that hopefully my son will be in for 6 months & it doesn't have any canopy.

My bassinet is an old family one and has nothing at the "head" end. I did buy a crook which clamps to the end and holds a mosquito net which dresses it up. I sewed lace to my net which matches the lace on the bassinet skirt.

I can't remember where I bought the crook from, I think I bought it for DS1, so I've had it a long time, but you could try baby shops. It's just a simple metal bar (like a L shape with a bolt/clamp attachment.)

You definitely don't need a hood over your bassinette. I'm not sure what they are meant to do anyway apart from look pretty

i agree with the others it is for the visual aspect only.

we had a moses basket and it doesnt come with a hood and is a 'basinette' type sleep arrangement.
