I get into the big bath with her... our DD doesn't weight enough to keep the hammock on the fisher price baby bath in the water and seems to do a poo each time we use the baby bath but doesn't in the big bath.

She can still splash and kick about and I find it easier to support her in the water. DP gets her out and dries her whilst I dry myself.

We had the same problem with DS. We've got one of those lounge chair type support things for him which works brilliantly. He lays back and has a good kick and a wiggle. It makes it so much easier for him and us can he can relax and not feel as vulnerable and we don't have to worry about him slipping out of his hands. It also means that his body can be immersed in the water too which I like because then I know he's not getting cold.

I also used to do the same as Lulu and Trish. My girls used to tire themselves out with all of the kicking and splashing!

Thanks girls. I'm looking forward to bathing with DD. But I won't be able to do that all the time as DH works shift for 6 days at a time and wouldn't be able to help so I think I'll get a support too like you use Miss Excited... I've seen them for less than $20. DD loves being submerced in the water. I can't wait to be able to take her swimming

Yep thats what we do... now she can sit by herself obviously, but we still get in, she loves her bathtime-playtime and its a nice relaxed time for one of us to share with her

Our big bath is too deep for me not to get in with DD, once she outgrew the baby bath we borrowed our cousins plastic baby support, long seat thing and filled the bath big enough to cover the bottom of it and we hoped in with her.
Once she was capable of sitting on her own we have the suction cap round bath seat, she LOVES it... is just starting to explore the bath without it now but very slippery!
She refuses to lay down in the bath now though, just wants to be up and about!
