Still on the hunt for the perfect pram which i have decided doesnt exist lol - i am sure someone could has told me this but i was determined to drive myself and dh crazy looking for it i cant tell you how many nights i have spent dreaming of prams
Anyway, we have another contender - the Swallow Beema Q.
Does anyone have this pram? If you do, what do you love/want to change about it?
-All terrain - perfect for walks around the block or over lumps and bumps.
-Comfy - DD has always been able to sleep well in it. The bassinette is particularly great as you can close it into a little cocoon.
-Bassinette is handy in itself as a portable cot - good for visits away etc.
-Lots of storage room in the basket and pockets.
-Sturdy but light to maneouvre.
Negatives:
-We have the Lake Como colour and the light blue trim gets very dirty looking.
-The 5 point harness cannot be tightened as much as I would like (other mums I know have commented on this too). Seems like a design fault to me?
-No capacity for a toddler seat.
-Handle is not reversible so once bubs is out of basinette they always face outwards (which they want to do by that stage anyway so this is not that important).
Overall I recommend it. However can I say if I were to do the pram thing again I would go a second hand one because you move so quickly into a stroller usually that the big price tag is not usually worth it. Also, so many people buy one style and then dislike something about it and buy a second one. Then when the second bubs comes along....
Hi Kristy, I dont have a beema but it was my next choice after the Phil & Teds.
Everyone that I have met who owns one have only praised it. I, like you, did the stopping parents at the shops to ask them about their prams & everyone I asked about the beema had great things to say.
I also think they look so comfy for bubs & I LOVE the way the bassinette sits in the pram & closes in like a cacoon as mentioned above.
Have you tried one in a baby shop yet?
Good luck hun, so exciting once you make your decision & have it at home to admire & imagine your bubs in it

I have BEema Q - black andgreen and overall very happy with it. I agree there is no PERFECT pram but it does have good features. I would agree with all above points including:
Good Points:
- narrow so fits into shops and checkouts quite easily
- COST - reasonable price
- you can take wheels off to fit into boot if you need
- the brake is off the ground so easy to use
- when fully reclined you can still hit the brake without fear of hitting baby (I felt this was the case with P & T's)
Bad Points:
- colour choice!! ha ha
- where the canopy connects to pram - my DD loves to slant towards this and rests her head there - I would have thought it was quite hard and hurt but she doesn't seem to mind!
Danielle_M I thought i remembered you saying that you had looked at it. A friend of mine has one and loves it - her dh likes the fact that the wheels pump up with air like a golf buggy lol - and i have played with it. I want more opinions though
Sophia Thanks, i liked the look of the Lake como colour so if we get it i will take that into consideration. Thats the whole thing i cant get my head around with prams - is that after 12 months or so you end up buying a stroller or another pram, seems like a waste of money (that is why the perfect pram doesnt exist, i have decided). As for price, they are on sale atm and the bassinet is half price, i realy like the idea of a bassinet for when bubs is younger.
THanks for your feedback
Jordie- posted at the same time - thanks for the feedback. I have to agree that the size of it is appealing for a 3 wheeler, i dont want a wide pram that doesnt fit everywhere.
I have one of the black ones and have had it for over 3 years now. Overall I am quite happy with it for the reasons listed above. The main downside is that the canopy does not seem to cover enough for when they are bigger and sitting up, the sun gets in their eyes. There is an attachment though that I have seen that would solve that problem.
I have bought a 2nd pram that I use for shopping centres that is a bit smaller and has cup holder etc. I found the Beema to be a bit long and I was always bumping into people. So the Beema is now used for street walking and when I walk to the local supermarket. It is great for getting over gutters and dealing with wonky footpaths.
I don't often use it in shopping centres/busy places as I live in the country but I find I have problems judging the length too. I kept running into my friend's legs/feet.
My DS also rests his head on the bars of the canopy, once had a red mark. But he was pretty slumped over and I was a naughty mummy and hadn't done him up.
I agree with what everyone else has said and will add:
I like how you can have '2 hoods' when using the bassinet, awesome for sun protection and in the winter. Although everyone at marion who had the lake como one took the main canopy off.
The jolly jumper stroller caddy fits perfectly and is awesome for keys etc. You can't access the pocket on the back of the hood but I find I don't need to.
I live in the country so do a bit of walking on gravel footpaths and have done lots of walking so it is perfect for this.
The shopping basket is big and you can fit lots. When DS was smaller and I had the bassinet I would fill that too. Take note babies wake when you stick a cold litre of milk near them.
It is narrow. I can fit through most doors easily. Good turning circle too.
Is comparatively cheaper than some other 3 wheelers (valco, mountain buggy). I also like the seat recline mechanism as it is easy to operate but it does mean you have only 3 positions - flat, semi reclined and sitting. I have used semi-reclined from 3 months.
I also like how the pram locks closed - no fiddling about with a strap but sometimes my wheel gets stuck so I have to make sure it is free before I fold it. It is annoying how you have to straighten the handle bar and lower the seat before you fold it as I keep forgetting. Not big jobs to fix though.
I love my Beema Q - we haven't even bought a stroller and DD is now 19mths old! It is so easy to manouvre (sp?!) and was great to use at the start with the basinette. DD actually slept in the basinette till she was about 3mths old!
Even though it doesn't come with a toddler seat, I have a friend who bought a toddler seat from Target that fitted it perfectly.
All the best with your decision!
I got mine off ebay 2nd hand, it is the best pram i have had out of the 4 girls

Bassinette was great for new bub
big basket
Dislikes
A little heavy (think the new one's might be lighter though)
Like said before the hood doesn't cover well when they are sitting up but i have a sun shade for when its hotter.
I love my Beema Q. I got the gorgeous red one (cause it goes faster ). I second all the positives that everyone else has already mentioned.
The only two negatives to me are if you have a sedan sometimes it can be a bit tricky getting it in and out and so then it can feel heavy when you have to do a few times in a row. Second is that you can't attach a toddler seat.
I borrowed a friend's for a few weeks before we bought our Strider.
Sorry, but I didn't like it at all. Way too heavy and way too hard to fold (these things were MAJOR negatives for me as I have a dodgy back and three big steps at the front of my house).
Hi I love my Beema Q. I have the black/green one.
I second all the previous positives and will add that the handle is adjustable so works well for me and Dh who is a fair bit taller than me.
Also it fits in the boot of my little Charade as long as I take 1 wheel off.
I haven't even considered buying a stroller as the Beema does everything I want it to do eg fits through all checkouts and is great for outdoor walking especially over bumpy/uneven ground. It gets used on a daily basis here too.
