You can actually buy stands for the bassinette for about $40 depending on the brand, so that you can take it off the pram and put it next to your bed etc. The stands have wheels so you can move them around too.

A friend of mine asked someone in a baby shop about this when she was prg - they told her it's not recommended for all night use, but I seriously can't see the difference between these bassinettes and other kinds

Sounds like a great idea, I guess the difference maybe the base mattress on the bassinet, our bassinet (not a bugaboo) but a normal bassinet with a wheel base had a mattress which is breathable. What type of matress is used in the bugaboo bassinet? is it similar matress to the normal standard bassinet which is ok for overnight sleeps?

I did it with Oliver for 4 weeks, and will do it again for the next bub. We have a Quinny Dreami pram bassinet. I think we will buy a stand next time though, as the pram chassis is a bit big for our bedroom.
