i have a mazda 323-door & we have a safe n sound compaq deluxe. there's no problem fitting it in the back & the premier (i think that's the name of the model) also fit - i think the compaq is more to do with it being narrower so you can still fit more than one car seat in the back? not sure.

DP is 6' & can still fit in the front seat, but it's a real squeeze & his legs are kind of jammed up against the dash! if only he'd learn how to drive a manual then we'd have no problem at all

Safe n Sound Compaq deluxe all the way. It is perfect in my astra. And was excellent rear facing and just as good forward. I can still sit two people in the back seat with it.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Had heard the SnS compaq was highly rated that's on my shortlist tossing up whether to hire a capsule for the first 6mnths apparently thr SnS Unity is good and spacesaving? Then get the compaq??

Off to baby shops next week for a look.

I'll check out the video thanks NurseKobeh.

I have the SNS unity and it is great, bub is still in it at 13months, so have got alot of use out of it, she is not tiny but on the small side. Not sure if it is spacesaving, but fits weel in out magna, behind driver seat and dh can still put seat back far enough to drive and he is 5'10 or so.

Definetly go somewhere where you can put them in your car to see if they will fit. With the unity the instructions say that the front seat can just touch it as long as doesn't alter the angle etc.

    Hope this helps

I just skipped the capsule and went straight into the compaq rear facing. I did not miss lugging round a capsule, and I could manage to get DD from the car to the pram/cot still asleep. I had a c-sect so lifting was not good for me in the early days either... Plus I could not justify the $$$, knowing I had to get the compaq later anyway...

Also, I need to have a small umbrella stroller for our car... so that is something to think about too... I also used a carrier too...
