Close Carrier/HAB or other suggestions for newborn carriers :D

So I have a Bubba Sling, and Ergo with the infant insert and a Baby Bjorn Synergy (don't shoot me SIL is loving it atm)

But after hearing a few people haveing trouble with the Ergo and the Infant insert I am wondering if I should look at a Close Carrier or Hug a Bub, Peanut Shell or something else. Bub will be carried a lot as we are keeping our Bugaboo and I won't buy another pram, maybe a double stroller down the track, DD will go in the pram or walk.

But based on your experience, what carrier did you find best for a newborn, easiest, cost effective, value for money, comfortable, pretty and flexible?

DH might kill me for buying another carrier, but......

    TIA xxoo

Hehe you have same as me!!

DS1 I bought ergo but hated using with insert so stopped using till 4 months.

Baba sling I only used from a 8 weeks till about 4 months as it hurt my neck

Before DS2 was born I bought a close carrier and its fantastic so easy to use and comfy, highly recommend for newborn.

I only used a HAB for our newborn but my and I LOVED it sooo much. We started using an ergo from about 5 months, I never used an infant insert because it didn't look as snuggly as the HAB to me so we didn't bother buying one.

I used a Sleepy Wrap with DS until he was around 6 months...exactly the same as a HAB just a nicer price tag. As PP said definitely more snuggly than an Ergo, DS used to fall asleep within 10 mins everytime I used it.

I LOVE my close carrier. Much the same as the HAB (which I had with DS) but no need for tying and is easy to tighten up if you need to.

I've been using an ellaroo sling for DD and loved it, but just this week my close carrier arrived - and I'm hooked! It is so easy to use and really comfortable to wear, and DD seems really relaxed in it and snoozes away. Best of all it feels really secure. I do think it could get quite hot to wear in warmer weather though. Not sure.

The new close carriers have flowers on the band too, but reversible so your DH doesn't have to wear it with flowers...several people have commented on it

So I have a couple of ring slings but dd2 just wouldn't sit in it comfortably, I love the look of the close carrier, where is the best place to get one?

Another vote for the close carrier. So easy to put on and bubs is nice and close.

I ordered mine on the internet. Delivery was very quick.

    I made my own Beema.
I used a pattern Suze suggested called the Ball Baby Overall for my meitei - which still gets used for both kids.
And the Karma baby sling pattern for a peanut shell made to fit me.
They only cost me a grand total of about $29 for both ($4 duck cloth for the peanut shell and half price linen and quilters cotton for the meitei). Both were super eas to sew.

Hi!! I have a carrier obsession I don't think you can go past a stretchy wrap for a newborn. I have a HAB, but there are others out there like the moby etc that will do the same thing. I did use the Ergo with infant insert with no major dramas. DS seemed to quite like it from about 4 weeks old. I also love my lightly padded maya wrap ring sling for quick trips. Then when he was older I used a babyhawk meitai, ball baby overall, and pikkolo... I will be taking the HAB to hospital with me this time...

Alicia that's what I have decided, I found a seller on eBay who can send one from the uk and it will still be under $100, the HaB looks great but I think I would find it a PITA too having to tie it up all the time.

Gave in and ordered the close carrier off eBay, tried it on and it's super comfy and easy to adjust, will try it with dd2 tomorrow, she is within the weight range so I can see how it fits/ works.

I was just thinking.... I didn't get my close carrier until M was about 6 weeks. I was saying to DH that I can't wait for next bub as I'm going to have my close carrier from day 1! If that is not a reason to have another baby I don't know what is.

I just ordered a CC from ebay... BNWT $69 +$10 postage. Is discontinued colour and doesn't have a pocket on the front, but I don't care!! I got the chocolate which I figure will look good with a pink or a blue bubba!! Ooooh... I want it now!!
