    Clothes for a March Newborn??

I've already had a March newborn, 7 years ago (OMG!) but I'm at a bit of a loss this year as to what clothes I'm going to need for our new little man.

Everything I have is long sleeved & this was all perfect for DS1 in 2005, the two short sleeve outfits we had for him are still brand new with tags on!! However the temp is predicted to be late 20s & 30s this week and considering bub will be here in less than three weeks I'm worried that he's going to need summer clothes.

What would you do? I'm debating whether I should grab just a few short sleeved rompers for just in case...

I'd maybe get a few short sleeved body suits and some light weight legs. That way you can leave the legs off its a really warm day, or on if you need the warmth. I seem to only have May babies and its not uncommon to still be in tshirts over here at the time of year so I have quite a few shortsleeved bodysuits. They usually end up getting worn under long sleeve onsies for a bit of extra warmth after the first month or so.

Having said that, I'm really the wrong person to offer advice about newborn clothing. My as yet unborn already has a wardrobe full of 0000 and 000s. I'm hopeless and have absolutely no self control!

I got the short sleeve/short leg onesies in a size bigger and used those for the warmer days. DD was born at the end of March but there were still a few warmish days. The bigger size fit her perfectly when spring came around again.

I'd have a bit of everything. Maybe hit threadless and grab a couple of cute baby tees, then you can layer them over the bodysuits if it's cool, and you'll get use out of them either way?

I had 5 short sleaved rompers. DD lived in those for a couple of weeks. I then put leggings underneath as it got a little cooler. My DD was born 25 March. Hope this helps!

As mentioned get a few for just incase but don't necessarily take all the tags off and wash them so if in the end they weren't need you can return them or exchange them. With DD (#3) i finally learnt this and as much as we were given so many gorgeous little outfits we just could not physically get her to wear them all. There were a few things i was able to exchange and purchased larger sizes for her instead.

Babylegs/Huggalugs are awesome for times like that, great for covering gaps or under short legs when its cooler, and use for years 'cause they dont grow out of them.

5 no sleeves, 5 short sleeved, 5 long sleeve no legs, 5 long sleeves and legs.

two jackets, three trousers, six singlets, some hats and socks.

    wraps of different weights.

same as what we had from when DS was born (a May baby)

With March babies, you need about half summery clothes, half warmer clothes. My DS was born in March and i needed a good lot of both and lots of muslin wraps. He was born at the end of March too.

    Thanks guys

My brother's fiance has told me in no uncertain terms that i can't go shopping anymore & if it is warm she will go get him some summery clothes! She's just a little excited about having a baby to buy for!
