Funky fabrix have some cars material but not much
Hello experienced shoppers,
Where can I find some decent curtains for DS's new room???
Ideally I'd like a transport theme - cars, trucks, trains, planes, something along those lines. Not too fussy though. Construction would also be fine. Diggers, tractors, etc. Yes I'm gender stereotyping but it is actually what he likes.
Anyway, I cannot find any nice ones for love nor money. Found a great FB shops (thanks Nay I think it was) who has some character designs that'd be fine (Thomas, Bob etc) but they are all far too short for our windows.
I don't understand it - DH tells me we have standard drop windows, 8ft or 213cm, yet all the ones she stocks are much shorter. Anyway!
Where can I find some, in person or online? Or even fabric - MIL made the nursery curtains we currently have, she's pretty handy, so that's not a problem.
MIL has checked out Spotlight and Lincraft for both ready-to-hang curtains and also material. There's not really anything nice in stock.
Ideas?? Google hasn't been my friend...

Hi OP
I got my little mans curtains from pillow talk that are 90% block out curtains and they are in blue. I got them on sale for $19! They are only I think 120cm wide but I just bought a couple and joined them. For $19 it was still cheaper! They had about five different colours to choose from. U could then get normal material from spotlight and get ur mom to sew a hem or pattern on them if u wanted to theme it?
I used plain blue curtains from Curtain Wonderland for my DS's room. I got sheer ones as he has blinds already & they were more for decoration. From memory they were about $20 on sale. They were floor length.
For DD's room, I used fabric from IKEA & made some tab tops using a guide I found via google and adjusted it a bit. I loved IKEA's range of fabrics. They had heaps that would be suitable for boys or girls & fairly cheap. DD's curtains cost me about $50 by the time I bought material, buttons & thread. The material was about $10 per metre.
If you can sew, & really like the ones that are too short, you could sew horizontal panels into them in a plain block colour that either matches or contrasts the print.
I brought some beautiful animal printed black out ones from spotlight. pre made. They are lovely
UK eBay.
Spotlight?
Spoonflower has some great designs or, if you can use Photoshop or Illustrator, you can design your own using their site. Not a cheap option, but cool.
