My DS will only be 17 months when this bub is born next month, but a few months ago I bought a Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem pram from the States - bought it from Walmart through an Australian consignment company, all up including shipping to Queensland it cost less than $500 and is better than most I have seen lately on the market. It has HEAPS of room underneath and 6 or 7 different seating combinations. It's designed so you can even take one seat out and it becomes a single-seater with a massive trolley-like space. Obviously my DS is a bit younger than your DD (mind you, he's already 13 kilos, so I understand the weight-part of the concern with getting a pram!), but I figured I really don't need the stress of chasing a toddler while pushing a newborn, and I won't be physically able to do much baby wearing, unfortunately.

I will add that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pram and can't wait for bub to come out so I can use it!! That being said, I can wait for the night feeds.....

becs_bubs, I'm looking at the kolcraft online now, how have you found it? I have the strider double but think I must be the only person who doesn't like it, my DS is 21months and wants to sit in the front seat which means I have to put DS2 in the bottom seat & I don't like that he can't see me (neither does he!). I'd love to hear from anyone who has the kolcraft before I spend more money on a pram that might not be any good. TIA

I am a doofus who didn't think about this properly, brought a new pram for the baby and then went oh crap, my toddler is not going to make it on these walks...
I think I am being gifted a used Maclaren twin stroller so I am lucky but I wish I had of thought of it before.

I just got a normal pram to be honest. I figured my then 2 year old could walk efficiently enough so didn't need to be in a pram. Also we never really used a pram as it is so didn't think it was necessary.

We got a Baby Jogger City Select which I love.

TBH, we could have gotten by with DD in the carrier and DS either walking or in a pram, but I really wanted the double pram so I could get out walking for exercise. Plus, on longer shopping trips and outings, it is just easier. It's nice to have it as an option .

Ugh.. now closer to this baby coming out... I wish I had brought a double pram. There is no way DD is going to deal well with the walks we go on.

We bought a double pram when we had our second child and hated it! Opted for a single with a skateboard.

When we had our third we got a Strider Plus and love, love, LOVE it. We still have the single with skateboard for when I'm down a child but I adore my Strider.
