Gaia Baby Products Vs Aromababy baby Products

I am considering using natural products for my baby as I have read an article that talks about the harmful chemicals used in products such as johnson & johnson, and huggies products.

I am considering either the Gaia baby products or the Aromababy baby products, I know they are going to be more expensive than the johnsons baby oil etc.

Has anyone used either of these products? Which do you prefere / recommend?

Does anyone know anything about any of these products? (I think they can be purchased from Toys R Us and chemists, etc)

I like them both! Last I looked, Gaia can be found in supermarkets. I think I've seen Aromababy at Myer.

I love Gaia's soothing lotion for nappy rash, it's great. But then Aromababy's bottom balm is also good, that's more of a barrier cream (so if you're using cloth nappies, it won't clog them, I have to use a liner with Gaia's soothing lotion).

But I love Aromababy's moisturiser, because when I covered ds in Gaia, which has a strong essential oil fragrance (like icypoles), he didn't like such strong smelling stuff on his face. Whereas Aromababy is pretty much odourless, smells a bit oaty.

We use Gaia for our baths, and shampoo, because it's cheaper, but I LOVE the smell of the Aromambaby bath stuff. You don't have to pick one brand or another, you can just pick and choose what you like.

you can get both of them at loads of shops - i think gaia is even at coles. i have used diff products from both, and they are both good. gaia is cheaper and is great - recommend it (i use their bath wash and their shampoo - DS has LOADS of hair and i am about 1/2 way through a bottle of each - he is 16 mnths)
i liek them much more than the other brands which do have some nasties
in the earlydays olive oil is also good.. and weleda make some gorgeous producs as well...

Are they both free from the nasty chemicals? I looked at some Gaia stuff the other day but didn't buy it because even though it says it's all organic it didn't have the certified organic symbol on it. Was going to come in and ask then forgot, thanks for the reminder. Anyone know?

I've used both and I prefer Aromababy, especially the Barrier Balm, but Gaia is cheaper and much more widely available. Gaia does smell lovely but it can be a little overpowering sometimes for my liking.

If you go to the Gaia website it talks about their ingredients being certified organic but I don't believe the product as a whole is certified organic IYKWIM.

If you want a really really pure product I believe Miessence is very good and it's available on this website but it is more expensive again and I just can't afford it.

Oh, the Gaia products seem lovely! I recently purchased quite a few products from Little Innoscents too, if you are looking for other recommendations. It is all certified organic and very lightly scented with essential oils (except for the massage lotion - I think it's a bit too intense for a newborn). They were having a sale over Christmas, and I managed to stock up on baby powders and creams. I haven't tried Aromababy yet - have you been able to find samples or little travel kits from these ranges, so you can see how your little one's skin will react?

You can get samples for the Gaia products from the website. I haven't found any samples available for Aromababy

- while you are at it, I realise that paw paw is used a lot with babies, and I recently discovered that a very popular paw paw ointment is actually petroleum based and have blacklisted it in my house, there are better ones out there if you are interested.

You could go one better and try the miessence stuff. Certified organic products (not just a couple of ingredients, the whole product), Australian, and NO nasties in... they have samples but they also have a full return policy, refund everything if you dont like it.

There's a few others out there which are great, the Avado avocado oil based stuff and the Natural Instinct, or Organic Instinct. I use Miessense first and then the Natural Instinct second. I can get the natural instinct at the chemist and it is free from nasties.

I can really recommend the sunflower body wash not just for you but for an alternative to bubble bath which usually is loaded with nasties.

I love the Aromababy barrier balm, it is great and smells delish! We use Gaia in the bath as well, as it is more readily found at the supermarket. The website says that they are certified organic? Odd that they don't have the symbol. All ingredients are natural though and so are the Aromababy.

We use gaia or natural instincts and love them both! Like Tan said, the website states that gaia is certified organic.
I'd like to try miessence but its a bit out of my budget.

I havent looked so I can't say, but maybe its certified organic ingredients whereas Miessence are certified organic products.

It is a long, lengthy and expensive process to get each item certified. If you want to get the products cheaper you could always consider joining them as a rep and you get your own webpage (as you see in the link above) and can have a little business of your own.

We use Aromababy 'cos it is certified Organic and all 4 of my kids have sensitive skin. I figure if is organic is doesn't get any better. I looked at gaia and read somewhere it isn't actually certified organic. I did some research on Aromababy and it was has been round 14 years and it is used in the hospitals and my fave widwife with my last birth 4 months ago recommended it. I now buy it from Baby Bunting and have to keep onto my 8 yr old not to use too much as they love it so much. But it doesn't bubble up too much and lasts a long time which I figure is because it doesn't have any chemicals in it. My babes skin is far too important.

Gaia products are pretty good!! I use the lotion, massage oil, etc on my kids. Smells noice!!

We use GAIA here. Buy it at coles. Love it. DD gets eczema, but the gaia is very gentle on her.
