Glider chairs

Looking for someone who owns a glider. Just wondering what you guys recommend? I was not going to get one of these at all but we just purchased a new fabric lounge. We thought having a leather chair would provide easy clean up (for feeding ect) and not to mention so comfortable. So alas, we are thinking about it.

I have checked out product reviews but have yet to find a place in Brisbane I can go to try out several different brands. Suggest anywhere?

I have found they are way cheaper online and in every brand but I would assume a chair like this would need to be tested.

Any help would be appreciated. ; )

I have a glider rocking chair, it's fabric though (although it only started to develop stains when the kids were old enough to toddle about and spill their food on it). I lived in it for feeds with my first bub. It was in bub's room and was there for feeds and comforting. I wouldn't call it a necessity by any means, because for bub#2 I did more of my feeds in bed or from a couch, but it is a nice thing to have. I like that pregnant or feeding friends have somewhere comfy to sit when they visit too.

I looooooooooooove my glider chair. It is leather with a little matching stool and it is one of the most comfortable chairs to sit in, especially after having a bub. I didn't use it for feeding in much, but for sitting & comforting the bub, it was perfect.

I have one of the babyco papa gliders ...... yeah it was ok in th ebeginning I s'pose but the arm rest height and BF DD just didn't work. It needed to be lower by about an inch. I still use the footstool though and I am sure when DD is older we can use it for her bedtime story ;-)

Oooo. So maybe I should ask the question which one is good for breastfeeding/feeding. I have the most comfy lounge so would like one specifically for feeds. Thanks for your input ladies. Seems like they get the comfy vote!

Seems so much to spend on one chair but I am guessing it must be worth it. ; )

Buy it second hand... they are so expensive!!
I found mine second hand, can't vouch for feeding in it yet, but it is comfy, without me wanting to fall asleep, reclines etc perfectly, and has a gliding footstool, which is the best thing about them!
It was owned by the woman before me for all 3 of her babies, her husband actually had a tear dropping it off because they had sucha sentimental attachment to the chair. lol

i cant vouch for the glider chairs, but i can for getting it seccond hand!!
i was looking for one when i was pg with dd, i ended up getting a massage chair online for $50 brand new (new age shop was relocating and they not long got it for the boss but couldnt take it shame for them, yay for me!) it is in the same style as the leather gliders, only it dosent glide. it reclines and has 9 diffrent massage settings and a matching foot stool, it was bliss on my lower back late in pg and after i had her, i had it in her room and quiet often fell asleep in it feeding her in the early mornings!! you cant even feel the massage nodule things when you sit on it unless its on. at the moment df has claimed it for his "lounge chair" but im going to be taking it back verry soon! if i had gotten a glider like first planed i probably would have goten rid of it months ago.

I love my glider chair, it is a Valco, I picked it up on EBAY for $165, bargain, in fantastic condition with a foot stool, and it has been a great investment as I slept in it when I first came home after my CS, and now I use it to feed and cuddle and it is soo comfy

I have a Love n Care glider chair with the stool. Best. Chair. Ever. It's sooo comfy, it's in our main living area and if I'm not feeding DD lying down, I am feeding her in this chair. I got it when DS was about 8 months old, so didn't use it lots for feeding then as he wasn't feeding as much as a newborn but I did use it to cuddle him off to sleep which was particularly convenient when pregnant with DD. I also like how it has pockets in the side for books, magazines, iPad, remote....I can't see myself parting with it after my babies are too big

I have a Love 'n Care Glider, and next to DS's bouncer, it was the best purchase we made! I still use it several times a day for sleeps, giving bottles etc. and now DS plays on it! They are ugly things though - nasty fake leather etc. - not something I would have on show, but perfect for the baby's room (in my opinion). Super comfy! Just be aware that the steel frame isn't the greatest...it needs regular oiling and checks and it can get noisy! But as for cleaning up spews and messes, the leatherette is great. If you are ever heading to Brissy, pop in and have a glide, if you like!

By the way, Pram Warehouse has them for $295 new - which is heaps less than we paid for ours!
