    Thanks twinkletoes, I will do that. Was kind of hoping there would be a store somewhere I could go to and see and feel everything.... but if this is the only way, then the Macgyver in me will have to make it work!

    You could always go to there house and view the item first then if your happy with it buy it!

    Google 'gumtree gold coast' great site for second hand stuff, theres also a shop in the same complex as Oxenford post office that has great second hand stuff

    I know it's not the same as going to a store, but I will (almost) never buy new furniture again.

    FWIW we did the rounds of a heap of second hand stores on the Coast while I was PG, looking for drawers & stuff, and I was horrified at the price & quality (high prices for crappy stuff). eBay is heaps better.

    I think there's a second hand place in Ashmore, I just have to try & remember where
