I can't say that I've seen the DIKTAD change table personally (the range appears to have been discontinued by IKEA here)... but we spent some time wandering through IKEA earlier in the week, and it certainly appears that with their change tables, the baby's feet are towards you while you stand at the front where the drawers open. The advantage is that you've got plenty of space beside your baby for all the bits and pieces, the disadvantage is that the trays make them stand out from the wall quite a long way and a huge amount of the room is taken up.
I also worry that they aren't all that stable unless fixed to the wall like IKEA says. When we are renting, and have small rooms, they really don't suit us at all.
I will admit that the IKEA stuff looked great until we got in there. The cots don't have drop sides and with my arthritis and possible mobility issues, there's no way the price of their furniture could overcome the difficulties I would face using it. However, I can see that for many people, their furniture would be fantastic.
yeah BW, i agree .. it looks great , but look deeper and its not that great ... i find the quality just isnt what i thought it would be and would rather spend the $$ on something sturdier .. i went to ikea the other day with the intention to spend $$$ .. but only came home with napkings and a chopping baord .. ( like you , was after a change table .. none of them floated my baoat ...)
